The Ike boys improved on their 2007 finish by 2 places, moving up to 6th, only 7 points out of 4th. Bryan Simison led the team with a 10th Place finish, followed by Ryan Chapman (35th), Timothy Cummings (52nd), German Silva (69th), Andy Romfo (80th), Ivan Alfarro (103rd) and Cody Johnson (122nd). Kirsten Kaplan finished in 28th Place in her first appearance at State. Emmanuel Contreras of Davis capped his senior season at State with a 7th Place finish. The Davis girls finished in 11th, led by impressive top 10 performances by seniors Sandra Martinez (2nd Place) and Swawna Schooley (8th). The rest of the team, in order of finish, were Kaitlin Kaluzny, Katherine Kibbe, Hannah Kaluzny, Maria Espinosa and Emily Gerardi. In the girls 3A competition Audrey Urlacher (West Valley) finished in 23rd place.

4A Boys: 1st-Ferris, 2nd-Eisenhower and 3rd-Mead
4A Girls: 1st-Central Valley, 2nd-Richland and 3rd-Davis
3A Boys: 1st-North Central, 2nd-Mt. Spokane and 3rd-Shadle Park
3A Girls: 1st-Mt. Spokane, 2nd-Hanford and 3rd-Shadle Park

Congratulations to the Ike boys for their 2nd place finish, Bryan Simison for his 5th place finish, Kirsten Kaplan (Ike) for her 9th place finish and the Richland and Davis girls for their 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Congratulations are also in order for Sandra Martinez (Davis) and Andrew Gonzales (SR) for their Regional Championships, Emmanuel Contreras and Shawna Schooley (Davis) for their 2nd and 3rd place finishes, Audrey Urlacher (WV) for her second place finish, Jacob Rogers and Jose Sanchez (SS) for their 13th and 14th place finishes.

Big 9 4A District Championships
Walla Walla Point Park, Wenatchee    •    October 23, 2008
Davis, Eastmont, Eisenhower, Kamiakin, Kennewick, Moses Lake, Pasco, Richland, Southridge, Walla Walla and Wenatchee

The Ike boys complete the Big 9 season by winning the District Championship by placing 4 runners in the top 10. The girls placed 3rd behind Richland and Davis. Both teams move on to the Regional Championships in Richland on November 1st.
Congratulations to Sandra Martinez from Davis for setting a new District Meet Record (as well as Course, School and PR) on the way to winning the Big 9 Championship! Congratulations also go to Shawna Schooley and Emmanuel Contreras of Davis for their 2nd Place finishes and the rest of the Pirates who also go on to Regionals next weekend.

Big 9 League Dual Meet

Davis, Moses Lake, Pasco, Richland, Sunnyside and Walla Walla at Eisenhower

The Ike boys complete the Big 9 League regular season schedule going 3-0 against Richland, Moses Lake and Pasco. The girls lose to the League Champion Richland girls but beat both Moses Lake and Pasco. The boys racked up another League Championship season, undefeated in Big 9 Dual meets while the girls finished in 4th.

Big 9 League Dual Meet
Ft. Walla Walla State Park    •    September 30, 2008
Davis, Eisenhower, Kennewick, Southridge, Sunnyside, Wenatchee and West Valley at Walla Walla

The Boys continued their domination of the Big 9 League going 7-0 in the second League Dual meet. The Girls were impressive going 6-1, losing only to the highly ranked Davis team.

Bellevue Invitational
Lake Sammamish State Park    •    September 27, 2008

The Ike Boys dominated the Varsity flights and took 1st Place with a score of 19 points, going 1-4, 2-5, 1-2, 1-2 in the 4 Varsity flights. The girls turned in another impressive performance and took 3rd Place with 70 points, behind Snohomish and Mt. Spokane who each scored 67 points.

Ike Boys run a great race and place 3rd behind a very dominate Jesuit team and Jackson. Bryan Simison broke the 16 minute barrier to lead the team with a 5th Place finish. Frosh Mayra Chavez led the girls with a 20th place finish.
