The Ike boys claimed Second Place in the 4A Eastern Washington Regional Championships by bringing in their Scoring 5 in a span of 35 seconds in places 7 to 25. The sixth and seventh runners came in at 29 and 32 for a split of only 45 seconds between 1st and 7th. They entered the competion ranked behind Mead (#1) and Central Valley (#2). Going in to the State competion this weekend, Eisenhower is ranked 4th behind Mead, Snohomish and Gig Harbor. This could be anybodys race. The top six teams are evenly matched and it will come down to which team has all of their Varsity 7 step up and show us how good they really are.

Ann McCarthy ran the best race of her Eisenhower career at Regional's and qualified for State, coming in at 14th place. Way to go Ann! Good luck at State!

Around the Valley: On the girls' side Davis (4A), West Valley (3A), Ellensburg (2A) and White Pass (B/2B) are in contention for a trophy.
For the boys', Eisenhower (4A), Ellensburg (2A) and White Pass (B/2B) all have a shot at the medal stand.

Ike Boys bring home the hardware from Wenatchee!

The Varsity boys, led by Cody VanDeBrake's 1st place finish (15:55), put all 7 of their runners in the top 18, finishing in a span of 45 seconds. In the Junior Varsity race the Ike boys claimed 4 of the top 5 positions going 1, 2, 3 and 5 with times that would have placed them in the top 30 of the varsity field.

Results

The Varsity girls placed 4th with their scoring five all in the top 25. The girls were led by Anne McCarthy (19:09, 8th Place) and Rachel Southwick (19:23, 9th Place).

Miles Unterreiner of Gig Harbor broke into the Sunfair Top 20 All-Time list at 19 with a winning time of 15:13. Rob Webster of Puyallup was 2nd in 15:23 and Andrew Gonzales of Southridge was 3rd at 15:37.

Ruby Roberts moved on to the Sunfair Top 20 All-Time list at 13 with a time of 18:01. Runner up Kinsey Gomez from Coeur d'Alene finished in 18:06 and also cracked the All-Time Top 20 list. Baylee Mires of Mead was 3rd in 18:14.

The Gig Harbor Tides repeat as the Top Team by duplicating their 2006 performance and placing 2nd in both the Boys and Girls 4A Team Competitions.

Central Valley's Boys repeat as the Top Boys' Team by beating Gig Harbor and Eisenhower in a close competition (14, 17, 25) that came down to Flight 7. Going in to the final race of the day Central Valley led by a score of 8 to Gig Harbor's and Eisenhower's 16 points each.

The Mead Girls upset top ranked Gig Harbor for the Girls' Trophy by a score of 14 to 19. Bellingham was 3rd with 42 points.
