On a beautiful St. Patrick's Day in Yakima 484 athletes from Bickleton, East Valley, Eisenhower, Ellensburg, Kittitas, LaSalle, Moses Lake and Sunnyside enjoyed a great beginning to the 2007 Track and Field season.
New Meet Record!
In one of the last races of the day Isak Bergman broke the 2000m Meet Record in 5:46.90 to kick off his Senior Season at Ellensburg High School. The old record of 5:51.3 was set by Eisenhower's Robby Barany in 2003. Birkin Owart of Ellensburg was 2nd, Bryan Simison of Eisenhower was third in a close race with Kevin Aubol of Ellensburg.

Distance Medley Relay
The day started off with the Distance Medley Relays (600m, 200m, 400m, 800m). The East Valley team of Keara Garcia-Stubbs, Arianna Mohsenian, Brittany Rose and Lindsay Bronkhorst won the girls' race with a time of 6:39.84. In the boys race the Eisenhower team of Craig Johnston, Alex Murillo, Derrick Thomas and Cody VanDeBrake won in 4:58.49.

4x100m Relay
This year we added the 4x100m Relay to the Jamboree. The Eisenhower Girls' and Moses Lake's Boys' teams get their names added to the Meet Records by virtue of winning their races in the debut of this event at the Jamboree. Kelsey Dix, Amanda Patton, Jazmine Frazier and Shanai Campbell of Eisenhower won the girls race with a time of 53.56. The Moses Lake boys team of Brandon Anderson, David Gilman, Chris Richardson and Aaron Wafer won in 45.77.

Shot Put
Tad Harman of Moses Lake won the boys' Shot with a distance of 47-05.00. Mike Vavricka of LaSalle was 2nd and Tyler Glenn from Ellensburg was 3rd. The girls' Shot was won by Raisa Yates of East Valley with a toss of 31-09.00. Raisa also won the Discus competition. Raisa competed for Eisenhower last year. We're glad to see her doing so well at East Valley. Carly Dahlstrom and Sarah Kilian of Sunnyside were 2nd and 3rd. (None pictured).
